Hello

This new forum feels a little weird !!

p.s. I have no connection with the Delaware Forest Service - I just use it as an avatar because it has our state tree, the American Holly.

Re: Hello

Nice, Ron.  We've thought about bringing birds in simply for their song.  But we have 2 cats meaning the birds would feel like prey all the time.  Thus, no birds.  But it would be nice listening to them on the lanai.

Professional Horticulturist since 1985.  Grew up near St Louis, MO and never liked winter.  Still don't, even here in Central FL.  At least the palm palette is better!  Our garden Winter Haven is USDA Zone 9a/9b

Re: Hello

I fully support cat owners not getting pet birds !  I've had enough problems with my dogs !!!  I pulled this dead hummingbird out of my dog's mouth last spring...  I am hoping she didn't kill it and just found it dead !

I rescued this hummingbird, stuck in my shed, the same day...  so maybe I "corrected" the karma that day?

Ron, I like your birds! I had a quaker that had a vocabulary of over 100 words but it was very messy!
It got loose one day and flew up into a tall pine and stayed there for hours. The next morning I looked for him but could never find him. I hope he survived!
