Had a great big ole Ribbon Palm, Livistona decora, planted today

This is a great species for central FL.  Its solid zone 9, but will endure 8b temps for a short period.  Livistonas are not contracting Texas Phoenix Palm Decline so they make a better choice than our native Sabal palmetto here in Polk County were TPPD is spreading quickly from West to East.

Professional Horticulturist since 1985.  Grew up near St Louis, MO and never liked winter.  Still don't, even here in Central FL.  At least the palm palette is better!  Our garden Winter Haven is USDA Zone 9a/9b

I love those.  If I lived in Central Florida, that would be one of the first palms I would plant!  If I ever move back to New Orleans (doubtful), I would try one there as well.
